A couple of nights ago I did my first ever rehearsal* with neon orange guitar strings. (DR Handmade Neon HiDef strings to be precise.)
The Offical Looptron Verdict(tm) is that I am.... um... unsure. Although for mainly the same reason that I'm unsure about all coated strings. They sound absolutely fine, cut out some of the thwwwwwwp noise but they just feel, well... odd. Something about the lower tension and slightly higher friction just make 'em feel a bit... I can't think of a better word than rubbery.
Now, I get that they're supposed to sound better for longer, etc, and I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to them but I'm really not sure proposed benefits here justify them being nearly 3 times the pricOH WHO AM I KIDDING THEY GLOW IN THE DARK WOOOOOOO!!!!!!11!
